Linda Owen Jones
Linda comes from Wrexham in North Wales but moved to Cardiff in 1982 to train as an actor. She’s had a successful career in Welsh and English language theatre and television, with singing always an important part of her work. Linda joined the band as the main vocalist in 1994. Her vocal power and energy is unique in Welsh traditional music and in 2006 she won the Celtic Solo Vocal competition at the Llangollen International Eisteddfod.

Rhian Evan Jones
Rhian comes from Ton Pentre in the Rhondda Valley and started playing the violin when she was 10 years old. She graduated with a music degree from Cardiff University and has performed both as a soloist and with professional orchestras. Rhian started playing traditional music with Carreg Lafar in 1993 and is now among Wales’ leading fiddlers.

James Rourke
James was born in Llanelli, West Wales. He trained as an actor and film maker and is currently writing scripts for film and television as well as being a novelist. James began playing the flute at the age of fifteen and started playing traditional Welsh music with ‘Carraig Aonair’ in the late 1970s.

Antwn Owen Hicks
Antwn is from Pontllanfraith in the Sirhowy Valley. After training as an illustrator in London he moved back to Wales, some call it Hiraeth. He’s a self taught traditional musician, singing and playing various instruments including bagpipes, pibgorn, whistles and percussion. He’s among the pioneers reviving the Welsh piping tradition and together with James is a founder member of the band.

Danny Kilbride
Born in a council flat in Cardiff after an all night party with The Ballet Rambert. His first public performance was in the Cardiff Royal Infirmary folk club in 1970, playing guitar with his parents. Danny plays the usual mixture of fretted and fretless stringed instruments, and uses the revolutionary ‘Bowyer’s’ technique on keyboards and violin. Danny performs with a variety of bands including KilBride (with brothers Gerard and Bernard), Yr Hwntws, Taran and Juice.
